World Cup at the Cyber Café
Almost 200 youngsters came along to the Cyber Café for the four England games. Devotionals were shared during half time with one young person sharing his testimony at Church on how Jesus had changed his life. The Cyber Café Church tour team has been formed amongst young people and the youngsters have expressed they would like to have bible study time at the café.
Hospital Service
A service took place on Sunday 13 June at the Parish Church celebrating the work of Cirencester hospital. Friends of the hospital and staff were made welcome together with everyone involved in the ministry of healing in the hospital, community and surrounding area including Harnhill.
Christian Aid Week
Started on Sunday 9 May with a combined Commissioning service at St. Peter’s Church in Stratton at which Dr Paula Clifford spoke of the work being undertaken by Christian Aid specifically in Kenya and how lives are being transformed. During the week the annual door to door collection took place culminating in a street collection in the town centre on the Saturday. Thanks are given to the many volunteers who freely gave their time. The final total was announced as £10,738, well in excess of the previous year.
Churn Family Fun Day
Organised by the community service provider the Churn Project, this year’s event took place on Sunday 9 May at St. Michael’s Recreation Park. There were many attractions laid on for all the family to enjoy including free refreshments and cakes supplied by Churches Together in Cirencester, sports activities, many stalls such as Fairtrade promotions and much more.
Good Friday Service and Walk of Witness
On 2 April a combined service took place at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church looking at the Stations of the Cross. The service was followed by a Walk of Witness to the Market Place accompanied by the Salvation Army band. The walk ended with drama sketches and a final hymn.

Holocaust Memorial Day
A service took place on 27 January to mark this occasion at the Parish Church. Jules Eaton, a serving member of the military spoke about his visit to Belsen during the Cold War and how this affected his perception whilst on operations in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan. The service reflected on the continuing need for awareness of the dangers of complacency in a troubled world.
Combined Service for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
The service was led by Keith Hasler of Cirencester Community Church on 24 January. The focus of the evening was Christian Unity and the latest initiative to launch a street pastors scheme within Cirencester. The guest speaker was the pioneer of street pastors, Rev Les Isaac, who spoke about his experience in setting up the scheme and the fulfilment and encouragement given through the work of these volunteers. An opportunity was given to sign up to finding out more and getting involved.
