"I am the
resurrection and the life", said Jesus. "Those who believe in me will
live, even though they die; and all those who live and believe in me
will never die." (John 11:25)
This year's Easter Walk of Witness took place on Good Friday, starting at the
Methodist Church in Ashcroft Road.
About 200 people, members of Christian churches in the Cirencester area,
joined the procession in glorious sunshine, singing Easter hymns to the
music of the Salvation Army band.
The walk led into into
the Market Place beside the Parish Church, and the congregation
gathered behind the War Memorial for a service of worship. Speakers
included Revd Michael St. John-Channell from the Parish Church and
Revd Nigel Ford of the Baptist Church.
The new portable public address system, donated by members of one of
the churches, enabled the gathered public to hear the sermon.
Michael spoke of the importance of what Jesus achieved through His
death on the cross, and its relevance to people today.
The talk was followed by a very moving mime, depicting an artist
sculpting a statue of Jesus Christ.
See pictures of the walk,
the worship time, and of the mime.
