About Us

The aims of Churches Together in Cirencester are:

  • To build the kingdom of God by facilitating common witness to Christ by member churches, helping them to share the Gospel, evangelise together and promote justice and peace in the world.
  • To seek to draw all members of the churches’ congregations as well as their leaders into a deeper fellowship of mutual empathy, understanding and support by praying and worshipping together, learning about one another’s traditions and exploring their differences as disciples of Christ.
  • To help member churches work together to respond to the social and spiritual needs of the town.
  • To encourage good relationships between the leaders and congregations of member churches.
  • To provide a means of consultation between member churches.

Together in a Common Life

“They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and prayers.”

In these words, Luke describes the life of the first Christians. (Acts 2.42)

“I have given them the glory that you gave me that they may be one as we are one. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”

In these words, Jesus prayed that his disciples would become one, united as a powerful witness to the reality of God’s love. (John 17.22-23)

A joint declaration by the leaders of ALL the Christian church congregations in Cirencester.

“As leaders of the Christian Community in this town, we pledge ourselves to acknowledge the pain and hurt, mistrust and lack of encouragement Christians have experienced and given to one another over the past years.

This is a first important step in our goal towards reconciliation, mutual love, working and praying together in accordance with the perfect will and purpose of Jesus Christ, for his people.

To Him be all glory and praise forever.
